Hi! I will be your Team Roping instructor for the Jerome Rodeo Bible Camp. I have been involved in team roping for almost 30 years. The sport has taken me all over the West, competing in both rodeos and team roping events. I have spent time and learned from some of the best, including Allen Bach, Jake Barnes, Rickey Green, and my good friend Tommye Flenniken. I love sharing the experience of horses and roping with young people, and above all in a way that both honors and gives glory to our loving and merciful God. “When you think you have it all figured out, there is always a horse to show you that you don’t.” Martin Black

Hi all- My mother had me in the saddle before I could walk! Having a relationship with horses has been apart of my everyday life from the beginning. I was gifted with mentors who greatly impacted my life as a horseman from a very early age starting with my mother, and her ol’ rodeo coach Bud Roseberry and my grandfather. Class act human beings and horseman. I spent many days of my youth riding bareback throughout the countryside, exploring, dreaming and learning about life. Avid participant in 4-H Horsemanship, studied and rode on the CSI Equestrian Riding Team from 1998-1999, then moved to Arizona to pursue my dreams of riding working reining cow and cutting horses, where I befriended and worked for Mike Wood and Tony Boit. Both amazing horseman who opened up my world to meet the rest of my heroes; Al Dunning, John Slack, Teddy Robinson and Benny Guitron. What an amazing experience to follow up spending the fall of 2001 in Kentucky with Martin Black, starting Thoroughbred babies for many of the elite horse farms. That was the year Sept 11th happen. With a love for country and medicine, I joined the United States Navy in April 2002, as a Hospital Corpsman where I have served for 17 ½ years. Horses gave and taught me what it was to be compassionate, a good listener, leadership, empathy and forgiveness. I look forward to sharing some the most basic empowering fundamentals with you that I have learned through the years in horsemanship. When you think you are humble, God and a good horse can always humble us more. God Bless! Look forward to seeing you all at SEIRBC!
